Our Story
The Sri Lankan Cultural Society of Western Australia is the umbrella organization representing all Sri Lankans in Western Australia since 1987. Our Organization aims to reflects the accurate image of Sri Lanka as a multi-ethnic nation and thereby contribute towards promoting Multiculturalism in Western Australia.
The Society is financed by annual membership fees, fundraising activities and other various donations, grants and sponsorship received from people and organisations. Our Society strive to host various exciting events every calendar year, some of our main events include;
- Representing Sri Lankan participation in most Australian Government events
- Celebration of National Independence Day (free of charge event)
- Celebration of Sinhalese and Hindu New year (free of charge event)
Further, our aims are to provide:
- Financial assistance to anyone based on their circumstances
- To help raise funds for charitable organisations
- Member discounts for all fundraising activities, (i.e. movie nights/dinner dances)
The funds generated through the above, assist the Society to run these events successfully each year.
Association membership is open to all Sri Lankans living in Australia and start as little as $25.00/year per person.
We wish to inform our Members that they renew their Membership each year to assist the smooth operation of organising such activities.
